A visit from our local Fire Department

On 4th October 2019 Busy Kids child care got a lovely visit from our local Fire brigade. They showed us their special breathing apparatus, along with their hats to protect their heads and showed us the material of their clothes, which are specially designed to protect the Fire Fighters from fires. The children also had a very exciting experience of using the fire hose, hearing the fire truck siren and viewing the fire truck up close.

Fire safety is so important, so this very special learning experience has been a fantastic opportunity to teach the children about care and safety for themselves and others when faced with dangerous situations. It is also important for the children to know that there is help within their community and where to access this help.

EYLF outcome: 2.1, Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities and an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participation.
